The initiative was launched in 2012 in London, Washington and New York. It has been set up by the Shafik Gabr Foundation, and inspired by the Orientalist traveler painters.
The 2016 Gabr Fellowship is now open for applications (click here to apply). The Egypt program will take place from September 1st - 10th, 2016; and the US program from September 17th - 24th, 2016
