After the completion of all logistical issues, the Shafik Gabr Foundation in co-operation with Humanity in Action is pleased to announce that the Gabr Fellows will commence the East:West initiative on June 2nd 2013 in Egypt.

The Shafik Gabr Foundation has announced the selection of the 2013 Gabr Fellows.

The first East-West: The Art of Dialogue Fellowship Program (in partnership with Humanity in Action) has been announced. 

The press release has been issued for the New York event: "There is no substitute for direct interaction and it is the sense of talking to each other that will create the hope for the future."

The first event to mark the launch of the East-West: The Art of Dialogue initiative has been held in London.

Masterpieces of Orientalist Art: The Shafik Gabr Collection will be published on November 1st 2012 – alongside the launch of the East-West: The Art of Dialogue initiative. The book will be on sale in art bookshops and via online retailers.

The BBC World News presenter Nik Gowing has agreed to be the moderator at the first East-West: The Art of Dialogue panel event – to be held in London on November 15th.
