Conclusion of 2015 Gabr Fellowship

Information Statement 24

The 2015 Gabr Fellowship United States portion has come to an end, concluding the Gabr Fellowship program this year.

The Fellows had an intensive schedule that included visits to the White House, the Pentagon, the National Defense University, USAID, and the CNN headquarters. They had a once in a life-time opportunity to meet with leading business figures and policy makers, including Dina Powell, President of the Goldman Sachs Foundation, Dr. Richard Haass, President of the Council on Foreign Relations, the Egyptian Delegation at the United Nations Headquarters Building, Jennifer Ragland, Director of International Government Relations & Public Affairs at the CocaCola Foundation. The Fellows also met with selected members of Congress as well as with Presidential Advisors.

Having completed their travels together in Egypt and the United States, the Fellows now move forward towards executing their action projects. In small groups of two to five Fellows (each group must mix a foreign and Egyptian Fellow), the Gabr Fellows now return to their homes to play the role of diplomat introducing Egyptians and Americans to a people, a culture, and a future never before explored in this way.

Together, through their cooperation and their projects, they are creating the legacy of ‘The Gabr Fellowship’: an international cohort dedicated to pursuing cooperative, collective solutions to their region's most pressing issues.
