Becca Doten works as the Chief of Staff to a Los Angeles City Councilmember. In this capacity, she manages staff at four offices, oversees the legislative and constituent service agenda for the Councilmember, is a key strategic advisor for politics and policy, and handles media and communications. Issue areas she has focused on include entertainment/film policy, job creation, environmental protection and reducing poverty. Prior to this position, she worked for blogger/activist Arianna Huffington during the launch of the Huffington Post. Becca recently completed the LAPD Reserve Officer Training Program and will be sworn in on as a LAPD Reserve Officer on April 19, 2013. She serves on the Board of Directors of Students Run LA, a local non-profit, and she is the only Young Democrat elected to the Democratic National Committee (DNC) from California. Becca holds a B.A. degree in Film Production from the University of Southern California. She was born and raised in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
